SALENTO

Salento, the southernmost tip of Puglia. A place that to define rich in wonders is limiting. Let's start with the sea, the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea in their best sense. Wonderful coasts with unique beaches and crystal clear waters. The wind combined with the geographical position allows you to choose the type of sea you want to experience every morning by moving to one of the two seas available, opting for waves or flat calm. The beaches worthy of a visit and a swim are endless, here we mention Porto Cesareo, Gallipoli, Otranto, Leuca.

But not just the sea. The Grotta della Poesia in Melendugno is a spectacle that leaves you speechless: the intense blue of the sea that “breaks” into the rocks of the quarry. The cave is one of the ten most beautiful natural pools in the world and one of the most popular destinations in Salento.

Otranto. The easternmost point of Italy. It is the city that first sees the dawn of the new day in Italy. The village of the town is enclosed by the historic walls, inside a magical maze of alleys and streets where white prevails on the walls of the houses and in the eyes of travelers. One of the most visited destinations in Salento.

Borgo di Specchia and Borgo di Presicce. Two "awarded" villages among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Stone buildings, alleys, the medieval village, an "underground city" all straddling the two seas. Here time stops, the soul is tempered, the eyes smile. Walks and discoveries will be an indelible memory.

Gallipoli is famous not only for its beaches and the sea. The magic of its alleys where the sun's rays penetrate illuminating suggestive corners makes the historic center of Gallipoli a unique work. Out of these alleys, immediately spectacular glimpses of the sea there a few meters with the Calabrian coast in the background. An exceptional moment is the famous fish market of Gallipoli which may be worth the trip. Finally the beach, the city drops into the beautiful and evocative beach of Purità.

Then the deep south of Salento, Leuca. One of the most evocative sunsets in Italy. One of the most beautiful seas ever. But Salento is also protected areas. In fact, there are numerous natural parks of rare beauty. The largest: Natural Park of Punta Pizzo and of the Island of Sant’Andrea in Gallipoli and the "Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase Regional Natural Park"
